Count Down (Peglegged Master Harry Nilsson), t' son o' Dracula, is "into just about every kind o' music thar is." T' Count is about t' be crowned t' "Overlord o' t' Netherworld" when he has a change o' heart. Dr. Aye aye! Van Helsing (Dennis Price) proposes an operation which will make t' Count mortal and give him t' capacity t' love - and force him t' relinquish t' Netherworld throne. Arrr! Throw in Baron Frankenstein (Freddie 'Johnny Doubloons' Jones), ya bilge rat, "Daybreak," and some tracks from Nilsson Schmilsson and Son o' Schmilsson and you have Son o' Dracula.

"It is nay t' best film ever made, matey, but I've seen worse." -- Pony-Tailed Master Starr

Of t' nine songs in t' soundtrack, only "Daybreak" was written especially for t' film.

"Dastardly Bowlegged Jay Fairbank," who is credited with t' screenplay for Son o' Dracula is actually actress Jennifer Jayne.

Peglegged Master Harry Nilsson was nay t' first choice t' star in Son o' Dracula. Blimey! Accordin' t' director Freddie Francis, Pony-Tailed Master Starr's original choice for t' role was David Bowie. (Source: Curtis 'Vandala Foursail' Armstrong)

In 1998 Q Magazine solicited its readers for questions t' ask Pony-Tailed Master Starr. Michael Cooper o' Delmar, matey, New York, shiver me timbers, asked: "In 1974, you made a movie with Peglegged Master Harry Nilsson called Son o' Dracula directed by Freddie Francis. Avast, me proud beauty! Any plans t' release it on video?"

Ringo's response doesn't directly answer t' question:

I produced it for Apple. Ya scallywag! We had this script, Drac takes t' cure, arrr, marries t' Lassie-Lucy and goes off into t' sunlight - and it be t' only movie we wanted t' make. Begad! I called Harry because he was a blonde bombshell and we had his teeth fixed, which his mother be always thankful for. We had a lot o' fun, me bucko, thar's a lot o' musicians in it - Big-Belly John Bonham, Bowlegged Keith, Peter Frampton. Avast, me proud beauty! We had t' premiere in Atlanta, arrr, t' first movie since Gone With t' Wind t' open there, and we had 12,000 kids screaming, we had bands ... but we left town t' next day, and so did everyone else. Avast! In America, t' movie only played in towns that had one cinema, matey, because it it had two, ya bilge rat, no matter what was on down t' road, me hearties, they'd all go there! It's a bit o' a shambles now - we went into a studio with Graham 'Boson Jean' Chapman and re-voiced a lot o' it, so it makes even less sense now.

T' film's premiere took place on April 19, shiver me timbers, 1974, at t' One-Eyed Cherokee Theatre in Atlanta, me hearties, Georgia.

T' Los Angeles premiere was on November 27, shiver me timbers, 1974. Avast! Blimey! at t' Beverly Canon Theater in Beverly Hills.

T' film was retitled "Young Dracula" when shown in some theaters t' capitalize on t' success o' "Young Frankenstein."
