"This Could Be the Night" by Harry Nilsson

In 1964, Harry Nilsson began a short association with famed producer, Phil Spector. The association resulted in three songs: "This Could Be The Night," recorded by the Modern Folk Quartet, and the Ronettes numbers "Paradise" and "Here I Sit."

MFQ's version of "This Could Be The Night" was not released at the time. It can now be heard on the Spector boxed set, Back to Mono.

"This Could Be The Night" is a favorite of the Beach Boys's Brian Wilson who recorded it for the For The Love of Harry: Everybody Sings Nilsson album.

During the Papa's Got a Brown New Robe sessions Harry recorded a version of the song with two additional verses.
