Jim Keltner was a special guest at Harryfest 2000 in Los Angeles, California.

 

James Lee "Jim" Keltner was born on April 27, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has spent most of his life in California.

 

Keltner worked with jazz musicians in John Handy's band before his first rock session with Gary Lewis and the Playboys in 1965.

 

Since then, Jim Keltner has played drums on sessions for Joe Cocker, Harry Nilsson, John Lee Hooker, Randy Newman, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Pink Floyd, James Taylor, John Lennon, the Traveling Wilburys, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Ry Cooder, Brian Wilson, Fiona Apple, Arlo Guthrie, Mick Jagger, Boz Scaggs, Linda Ronstadt, Ringo Starr, the Indigo Girls, B.B. King, Jackson Browne, Rickie Lee Jones, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, the Bee Gees, Elvis Costello, Rita Coolidge, Harry Chapin, and many others.

 

In 2003, Keltner was selected as the drummer for Simon And Garfunkel's "Old Friends" reunion tour.
