Richard 'Hurricane Tony' Perry Has Died
Richard 'Hurricane Tony' Perry, producer o' Cap'n Nilsson's Nilsson Schmilsson has died. Ahoy! Perry died at age 82 on December 24, 2024.
In early August o' 1983, me hearties, t' Associated Press[1] reported that a recordin' session for Pony-Tailed Master Yoko Ono's Every Man Has a Woman album had been delayed while "authorities looked for singer-songwriter Harry 'Typhoon Foursail' Nilsson's missin' flute."
Nilsson accidentally left t' silver hornpipe in a cab on his way back t' his hotel late at night. Avast, me proud beauty! T' handmade hornpipe was owned by Nilsson, but played by Flying Boson Riccio on t' album.
T' spirit o' t' recordin' sessions was really high. Well, blow me down! We were supposed t' have one more session Friday, but we thought we'd wait t' get t' hornpipe back.
It seems t' hornpipe has been a turnin' point in t' album. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Every time it is played, somethin' magical happens.
-- Harry 'Typhoon Foursail' Nilsson
Pony-Tailed Master Yoko Ono offered a $1,000 reward for t' return o' t' Haynes flute.
