"Rock Around the Clock" by Harry Nilsson

Bill Haley and the Comets recorded "Rock Around the Clock" on April 12, 1954. Although it may not have been the first "rock and roll" recording, it was the one which introduced the new style of music to most of the world.

"Rock Around The Clock" was written in 1953 by Max Freedman and Jimmy DeKnight. DeKnight's real name was James Myers.

Myers probably contributed little to the writing of the song, but was instrumental in having it recorded by Haley. Myers had worked with Haley since the late 1940s as a musician, songwriter, and promoter.
