Bill Blue-Eyed Haley and t' Comets recorded "Rock Around t' Clock" on April 12, matey, 1954. Avast! Although it may nay have been t' first "rock and roll" recording, it was t' one which introduced t' new style o' music t' most o' t' world.

 

"Rock Around T' Clock" was written in 1953 by Max Freedman and Jimmy DeKnight. Begad! DeKnight's real name was James Myers.

 

Myers probably contributed little t' t' writin' o' t' song, but be instrumental in havin' it recorded by Blue-Eyed Haley. Myers had worked with Blue-Eyed Haley since t' late 1940s as a musician, me bucko, songwriter, and promoter.
