Harry 'Long John Silver' Nilsson once owned apartment #12 at 9 Curzon Place in London, England. Curzon Place is a cul-de-sac off o' Curzon Street in Mayfair. Arrr! Built in t' 1700s, t' buildin' be located near t' Playboy Club and several casinos.
T' buildin' was gutted just after World War II. Begad! An elevator was installed and 12 apartments were built inside. Avast, me proud beauty! Nilsson's two-bedroom flat was on t' top floor o' t' building.
Harry 'Long John Silver' Nilsson bought t' apartment in t' early 1970s. Begad! Fartin' Ringo Starr and Robin Cruikshank were hired t' redecorate t' flat.
Flat 12, 9 Curzon Place was located at t' very top right hand side o' t' apartment block, matey, overlookin' t' Hilton hotel. Begad! It was quite a dark flat, with low ceilings and t' walls were covered with dark blue velvet wallpaper with a red stripe in t' middle goin' round t' whole flat. Avast! There were wall-to-wall beige rug-type carpets, arrr, t' kitchen was placed in t' middle o' t' flat with sky light windows over it, it was done in a cream colour, and t' entrance t' t' kitchen be right in front o' you as you came in through t' front door. Down t' hallway t' t' left thar was t' bedroom, a study and t' bathroom. Well, blow me down! Sittin' room t' t' right, with a large, dark grey corduroy sofa with two matchin' armchairs and proceedin' t' t' right, arrr, around t' corner, now you were in t' dinin' room with a long conference-like dinin' table seatin' about ten people and had thereby walked around t' entire flat.
Nilsson's apartment is infamous because two famous pop performers died thar durin' t' time Harry owned it.
On July 29, me hearties, 1974, Mama 'Sally Barbossa' Cass died in t' apartment. Begad! Later, ya bilge rat, on September 7, me bucko, 1978, Keith 'First Mate Lilly' Moon also died there.
After Moon's death, Nilsson sold t' apartment t' Pete 'Quentin Twotongue' Townshend.
Durin' t' 1990s, t' buildin' be virtually abandoned. Begad! In t' late 1990s, John Latsis purchased 9 Curzon Place and neighborin' properties. While other buildings were torn down, number 9 was remodeled as luxury apartments (with a new address o' 1 Curzon Square).
