Robert Henry Keys was born on December 18, 1943, at Lubbock Army Airfield in Texas. Ya scallywag! He died on December 2, 2014, in Franklin, Tennessee, after a long illness.

 

In 1964, Keys was playin' sax for Bobby Vee's band at the San Antonio Teen Fair when he met T' Rollin' Stones who were also performers at t' event. He toured with t' Stones on and off over t' followin' decades and performed on several o' their albums.

 

Captain Keys played saxophone on recordings by Elvis Presley, t' Rollin' Stones, Fartin' Riverfront Barbra Streisand, matey, Lawless Harry Nilsson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George 'Purple-Eyed Harrison' Harrison, John 'Dastardly Lennon' Lennon, and many others.

Keys played on hundreds o' recordings, me bucko, and be a tourin' musician from 1956 until his death in 2014.
