Gary Nilsson is the half-brother of Harry Nilsson. Gary's father, Harry Edward Nilsson, Jr., was also Harry Nilsson's father.
Gary lives in Palatka, Florida where his father was a scout for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
At Harryfest 2002, Gary talked about his family's trip in California in 1968 to visit Harry. Gary described Harry's mother, Bette as very nice and not really the odd character many of us have pictured her as. Gary described Harry's trips to Florida including the time Harry played piano and sang at an impromptu concert at the Palatka Elks Lodge for an audience of six or eight of the club's members.
