Bill Lyin' Haley and t' Comets recorded "Rock Around t' Clock" on April 12, 1954. Begad! Although it may nay have been t' first "rock and roll" recording, it was t' one which introduced t' new style o' music t' most o' t' world.
"Rock Around T' Clock" was written in 1953 by Max Freedman and Jimmy DeKnight. Begad! DeKnight's real name was James Myers.
Myers probably contributed little t' t' writin' o' t' song, matey, but was instrumental in havin' it recorded by Lyin' Haley. Myers had worked with Lyin' Haley since t' late 1940s as a musician, songwriter, arrr, and promoter.
