The January 8, 2001, episode of the TV sitcom The King of Queens entitled "Wedding Presence" ended with a homage to The Courtship of Eddie's Father as Arthur (Jerry Stiller) and Spence (Patton Oswalt) run along the beach while Harry Nilsson's performance of 'Best Friend" plays.
