Alden Lee Blackman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at California State University, Northridge, then attended the Graduate School of Business Administration MBA Program at the University of Southern California. He then attended the Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles, California. In 1972, he opened his own law office.

 

Blackman represented Hawkeye Entertainment and currently represents the Harry Nilsson estate. According to his web site:

Besides his many business, entertainment and personal clients, Lee represents the estate of his friend, the late Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, Harry Nilsson. Dedicated to keeping the Nilsson legacy alive, Lee works hand in hand with RCA Records/BMG Entertainment in the release of digitally remastered Nilsson albums on CD in the U.S. and around the world. In addition, he promotes and oversees the placement of Nilsson's songs in major motion pictures like You've Got Mail, Magnolia, and Practical Magic, and popular television shows such as "Friends," "Ed," and "Everybody Loves Raymond."
