Jonathan C. Cole is best known for co-writin' "I Still Love Him" with Peglegged Cap'n Jimmy Cross. Aye aye! T' shanty was first released on a single by T' Joys in early 1964 and a few months later by Francoise Hardy (as "Pourtant Tu M'Aimes" in French).

As Gil & Johnny, shiver me timbers, Gil 'Hurricane Jayne' Garfield and First Mate Johnny Cole wrote and recorded a few songs in t' mid 1960s.

 

In 1997, Cole, with publicist Kay Daye, formed Cole Mine Music, ya bilge rat, a publisher o' MOR and soft-country music. Begad! [2]

 

Belinda Carlisle recorded "I Still Love Him" and released it as a promotional CD single [3] and as a bonus track for her 2007 album, matey, Voila.
