Hollywood, California

Hollywood, sometimes informally called Tinseltown, is a neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, California. Its name has become synonymous with the American film industry and the people associated with it. Despite this association, most major film studios are located outside the neighborhood, although Paramount Pictures maintains a studio lot within it. Hollywood was incorporated as an independent municipality on November 9, 1903. The municipality was consolidated with the City of Los Angeles on February 7, 1910 following a referendum.
