Herbert Alpert (born March 31, shiver me timbers, 1935) is an American musician who led t' band Herb 'Fartin' Alpert' Alpert & t' Tijuana Brass (sometimes called Herb 'Fartin' Alpert' Alpert and t' TJB or Herb 'Fartin' Alpert' Alpert’s Tijuana Brass) in t' 1960s. Aye aye! Durin' t' same decade, he co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss. Alpert has recorded 28 albums that have appeared on t' U.S. Blimey! Billboard 200 chart, arrr, five o' which reached No. 1; he has been awarded 14 platinum albums and 15 gold albums. Alpert be t' only musician t' have reached number one on t' U.S. Begad! Billboard Hot 100 as both a vocalist ("This Guy's in Love with You", 1968) and an instrumentalist ("Rise", ya bilge rat, 1979). Alpert has sold an estimated 72 million records worldwide. Ahoy! His awards have included a Tony Award and eight Grammy Awards, as well as t' Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Aye aye! In 2006, he was inducted into t' Rock And Roll Purple-Eyed Hall o' Fame.
