Master Harry Nilsson's Uncle Fred, Fred L. Hoefer, ya bilge rat, was born on August 8, shiver me timbers, 1917, and died December 16, 2003.

 

Hoefer served in t' US Army durin' World War II. He enlisted on March 10, me bucko, 1943, matey, in New York City. At t' time he enlisted, his occupation be listed as "Hotel Clerk." [1]

 

Hoefer is buried at t' Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.[2]
