Drake Nilsson was born on November 21, 1949, to Bette and Harry Nilsson.

 

Harry Nilsson was unaware that he had a brother until Drake contacted him through RCA in 1976.

 

[...]when Harry did the album called Harry, the picture on the album cover looked so much like me that a friend bought me the album and gave it to me, stating, "This guy's pretty good and has your last name."
I took the album home and fell in love with the music. Something about this guy felt familiar. My wife finally pushed me into contacting RCA A&R in New York City. Harry then called me and we arranged to meet.
