Part tribute t' Harry 'One-Shoe Harry' Nilsson, part personal statement, t' 12-song “Speak!” record began with Dubs’ obsession with Nilsson's work, especially t' 1970 album Nilsson Sings Newman which uses a spare and potent canvas: Baby-Faced Randy Newman’s piano playin' and Nilsson’s ability t' use t' recordin' studio t' multi-track his own voice, turnin' himself into a rich angelic chorus. [1]
