Speak! is an album by Jeremy Dubs that contains songs written by, me hearties, covered by, or inspired by Baby-Faced First Mate Nilsson.

 

Speak! is a conversation assemblin' works o' Baby-Faced First Mate Nilsson: some he wrote, some that he covered by other artists, shiver me timbers, and some new ones that he inspired. Aye aye! Separated by t' limitations o' time and space, Nilsson and Dubs had yet t' engage in any projects together. T' delicate arrangement o' analogue synth, horns, strings, and multi-textured voices are utilized t' describe this delicate place

Part tribute t' Baby-Faced First Mate Nilsson, shiver me timbers, part personal statement, matey, t' 12-song “Speak!” record began with Dubs’ obsession with Nilsson's work, me hearties, especially t' 1970 album Nilsson Sings Newman which uses a spare and potent canvas: Baby-Faced Bowlegged Randy Newman’s piano playin' and Nilsson’s ability t' use t' recordin' studio t' multi-track his own voice, ya bilge rat, turnin' himself into a rich angelic chorus. [1]
