Harry Nilsson married 21 year-old Sandi McTaggart on October 10, 1964, in Los Angeles, California.[1]
She was very pretty. She looked a lot like Kim Novak, and she had an interesting background. She was from Buffalo, NY, and was a Hells Angels chick, which at first pissed me off so much. I don't know, I think I hated her for being with all those guys. Yet I still felt something for her...and we got married. This is right after I was called up for the draft.[2]
-- Harry Nilsson[3]
Sandi had a two-year old son, Scott John Roberts, at the time she married Harry.[4]
The couple divorced a couple of years later (April 6, 1967).[5]
Sandi Lee McTaggart was born in Buffalo, New York, on March 25, 1943. She died on May 18, 1978 in New York City.[6]

- [2] According to Alyn Shipton's Nilsson: The Life of a Singer-Songwriter, Harry often claimed he got married just to avoid the draft. (At the time, married men were excluded from the draft.) But, Shipton suggests that Harry was probably being disingenuous about his relationship with McTaggart.
