Roger Pope played drums on Harry Nilsson's Nilsson Schmilsson.

Pope and Jim Gordon each recorded a drum track for the song "Jump into the Fire," apparently without knowing about the other's track. While mixing the song, producer Richard Perry noticed that the two tracks were in perfect sync, so he created the song's drum "solo" by fading out the other tracks.

Roger Pope is best known for playing drums for Elton John, on tour and on six of John's albums. He also fronted his own band, Hookfoot.
