I met him [John Lennon] accidentally the night of the Troubadour incident; I met him when I was doing Young Frankenstein. And then I met my wife, who was doing an article for Rolling Stone on Mel Brooks, and also at the same time doing an article on Harry Nilsson and John. John was producing Harry's record. We went over to the record studio and met John, who was with May Pang at the time. And we hit it off and we had a lot to talk about - drugs, God, infinity, primal scream therapy, gurus, all the things of the '60s and '70s.
