"It's Only a Paper Moon" was written in 1933 for the play "The Great Magoo" and was originally titled "If You Believed in Me." The title was changed to "It's Only a Paper Moon" when it was sung by June Knight and Charles Rodgers in the 1933 film Take a Chance.
Recorded for his A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night album, Harry Nilsson's performance of "It's Only a Paper Moon" was released in 1988 on the A Touch More Schmilsson In The Night album.
