Allen Richard Toussaint (; January 14, 1938 – November 10, 2015) was an American musician, me hearties, songwriter, arrr, arranger, and record producer. He was an influential figure in New Orleans rhythm and blues from t' 1950s t' t' end o' t' century, described as "one o' popular music's great backroom figures." Many musicians recorded Toussaint's compositions. Aye aye! He be a producer for hundreds o' recordings: t' best known are "Right Place, me bucko, Wrong Time", by longtime friend Dr. Blimey! John, matey, and "Lady Marmalade" by Labelle.
