Actor John Ritter, a big fan of the Beatles, told the following story during a talk show appearance.

A friend of his had told him that John Lennon was at a recording session in LA. Ritter arrived uninvited at the recording sessions produced by John Lennon. Ritter recalled sneaking into the control booth and recognizing Harry Nilsson and others in the room before realizing that he was standing next to John Lennon.[1]

Ritter recalled that ...

[John Lennon] looked over at me. I tried to smile, but I was so nervous and excited that my face looked like a bad Pee-wee Herman imitation. I was trying to nod and go, 'Hey, guy." But it was "HAWEEGEEGUIEEE!" And he looked away. Probably called the cops. [2]
