Gary Burr
Gary Scott Burr (born February 26, 1952) is an American songwriter, musician, record producer, and author. His songs have been recorded by artists including Juice Newton, The Oak Ridge Boys, Conway Twitty, Patty Loveless, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, and Ricky Martin. Among his best-known compositions are Newton's "Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on Me", Twitty's "That's My Job", Loveless's "I Try to Think About Elvis", McGraw's "Can't Be Really Gone", and Martin and Christina Aguilera's "Nobody Wants to Be Lonely". Burr was named the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Country Songwriter of the Year in 1995 and Billboard Songwriter of the Year in 1994. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
