During a 2001 episode[1] of the TV series "Everybody Loves Raymond," Raymond's brother, Robert Barone, quotes Harry Nilsson's "One":

Hey, why don't you get one of those big "number one" foam fingers and wave it in the air? 'Cause you're number one, Raymond, YOU'RE NUMBER ONE! But remember this: One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.

The character of "Robert Barone" is played by actor Brad Garrett.

In late 1996, Roger Smith, the creator of the Harry Nilsson web pages, was having lunch with Curtis Armstrong in Los Angeles, California.

It was my first trip to LA and my first meeting with Curtis. Curtis is an actor and a big fan of Harry Nilsson. He's pretty much the expert on Harry's career and music.
We were at a deli in Hollywood. During our meal, a gentleman said 'hi' to Curtis. After he left, Curtis, knowing I'm a fan of animation, mentioned that the gentleman who had said 'hi' had recently recorded the voice of one of the ghosts for the film Casper.
It wasn't until after I heard 'Robert Barone' saying the line from One on TV in 2001 and had gone online to look up the actor's name that I realized that it was Brad Garrett that had said 'hi' to Curtis that day back in 1996.
Later, after I posted the above story in the Harry Nilsson Mailing List, someone replied to say that there's another Brad Garrett / Harry Nilsson connection - Harry Nilsson co-wrote and sang the theme song for the short-lived 1988 TV series "First Impressions" which starred Brad Garrett."
