Detroit Free Press
The Detroit Free Press (commonly referred to as the Freep) is one of two major daily newspapers in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It is owned by USA Today Co. Its historical rival is The Detroit News, with which it operated under a joint operating agreement from 1989 until 2025. The Sunday edition is titled the Sunday Free Press. The Free Press has received ten Pulitzer Prizes and four Emmy Awards. Its motto is "On Guard for 195 Years".
