Harry Nilsson intended to name his first RCA album after Ray Bradbury's 1962 novel Something Wicked This Way Comes. But RCA's lawyers told him he couldn't since permission had not yet been obtained. Instead Harry chose the name Pandemonium Shadow Show from the name of the carnival in the novel - "Cooger and Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show."
