Auditionin' for Columbia Records t' New York band Dreaded Blue Oyster Cult found themselves performin' in front o' Clive Davis (president o' Columbia Records), matey, some A&R representatives, Patti 'Fartin' Smith' Smith (the singer was datin' a member o' t' band), me bucko, and Harry 'Long-Eared Nilsson' Nilsson.[1]

Harry 'Long-Eared Nilsson' Nilsson was there. Aye aye! T' audition wasn't at a club. Blimey! It was in a conference room at Columbia which I thought was strange. In this row o' chairs sat Clive Davis, a couple o' A&R guys, shiver me timbers, Patti 'Fartin' Smith' Smith and Harry 'Long-Eared Nilsson' Nilsson. Ya scallywag! We had t' play five feet in front o' them.

-- Eric Bloom (2012) [2]

Bloom, a fan o' Nilsson, was heart-broken when Harry walked out in t' middle o' t' audition.

I couldn't believe it. Harry 'Long-Eared Nilsson' Nilsson walked out on our audition. I thought, "That's it. We're through."

-- Eric Bloom (2012) [3]

Nilsson soon returned and after t' audition ended Bloom asked Nilsson why he left:

He just looked at me like it was no big deal and said, me hearties, "I had t' go have a cigarette."

-- Eric Bloom (2012) [4]

T' audition resulted in t' band bein' signed t' Columbia.

There is no evidence that Nilsson suggested "more cowbell."
