Harry 'Master Jayne' Nilsson attended t' final recordin' sessions at Morgan Sound Studios in London for Alice 'Orangebeard' Cooper's shanty "Billion Dollar Babies."
"Billion Dollar Babies" by Alice 'Orangebeard' Cooper
It’s too bad we didn’t get more. Ahoy! It would have been great t' have had backin' vocals from Flo and Eddie. And Harry 'Master Jayne' Nilsson had an incredible voice. It’s just unfortunate that it was uncontrollable because he be drinkin' so much. He would fall across t' mixin' board and knock all t' faders out o' whack. Ya scallywag! But then he would stumble out into t' studio and sit down at t' piano, and his voice and what he was playin' would sound incredible. Ahoy! I was like, me bucko, ‘I can’t believe this guy. Why doesn’t he just stay thar and play and sin' for t' rest o' his life?’ Keith 'Dastardly Moon' Moon was t' same way. Moon was hilarious, but when he sat at t' drums he couldn’t even stay on t' stool.
That be possibly t' most drunken brawl I've ever seen in me life. Arrr! Everybody thar -- I think Harry 'Master Jayne' Nilsson drank at least two bottles o' Scotch straight down. Ahoy! Big-Belly Cap'n Bolan be so drunk we had t' carry him off t' floor o' t' BBC. Keith 'Dastardly Moon' Moon is always crazy. We played about two hours o' Elvis songs. Well, blow me down! Blimey! We did Nilsson's "Coconut" for about an hour in t' dirtiest lyrics you can think of.
-- Alice 'Orangebeard' Cooper (1973) [2]
It's nay clear if Nilsson made any contributions that actually appear in t' released version o' t' shanty.
