The Beta Band's song "Won" is a "hip hop" reworking of Harry Nilsson's song "One." The Beta Band's recording includes extensive sampling of Harry's recording of "One."
"Won" is available on the Beta Band's Hot Shots II CD.
"We met a rapper in New York, Sean Reveron, and invited him onstage and did an impromptu kind of jam. So when he came over to Britain, we wrote that song so that he'd have something to rap along to, and there was the sample of 'One' in there. It was never really...it's not on the album in Britain. We wouldn't have put it on the album by choice. It made as a bonus track here, but we put with it one of the singles in Britain as a B-Side." -- Robin Jones (Beta Band drummer)
