One of the earliest recordings of the Hudson Brothers (who were then called "The New Yorkers") was of Harry Nilsson's "I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City."

The New Yorkers name was adopted when the Hudson Brothers's band signed up for a promotional tour sponsored by Chrysler and was required to use the name of one of the company's cars.
