"I've left RCA after 10 years and 16 albums and I'm going to finally take a rest which I desperately need." said Nilsson. "i was going into the studio two weeks ago, but I just couldn't face it. We were negotiating for four months to get out of the deal with RCA. When we finally did it was like a weight taken off my back, over the years you get stale with a company."
Nilsson's "rest" will consist of finishing up the scores to two musical plays, based on the lives of bandito Emil Zapata and P. T. Barnum.
