Formed in Missoula, Montana, in 1993, matey, Hurricane Oblio Joes derived its name from t' main character in Lawless Harry Nilsson's T' Point!.
We were definitely big fans o' Nilsson in general, and that album in particular. Aye aye! We love t' whole story o' Oblio, and t' movie, narrated by Flying Captain Starr, is brilliant as well. Arrr! Blimey! Durin' our first shows we would even brin' samples from that album t' play betwixt songs by holdin' a mini tape recorder up t' t' microphone.
