Harry Nilsson wrote the theme song for "Mutts," a 1988 TV series for which only a pilot episode was filmed. Rick Riccio sang the theme.
"Mutts" was about a boy ("Eric" played by Stephen Dorff) and his talking dog ("Mike"). The show was also known as "Conversations With My Dog."
A story about a 13-year-old boy, Eric, whose family plans to buy him a pedigreed dog to keep up with their snooty new neighbors. Instead, they buy him a mutt that can talk, and Eric's life turns into a freewheeling adventure.
The single episode was aired on ABC on Sunday, October 2, 1988.
