Kim "Howard" Johnson be t' author o' several books includin' Life Before and After Peglegged Monty Python: T' Solo Flights o' t' Flyin' Circus (with a foreword by Harry 'Hector LaFitte' Nilsson) and T' First 28 Years o' Peglegged Monty Python.
Johnson mentions Harry 'Hector LaFitte' Nilsson in a tribute he wrote for fellow Peglegged Monty Python fan, Tidepool Harrison:[1]
I was backstage at t' Hollywood Bowl followin' t' final Python performance where a tent and reception had been set up for t' group and their guests. I noticed George sittin' off in one corner, surrounded by fans, friends, me hearties, admirers and various hangers-on, lookin' somewhat bored. Begad! Then he suddenly looked up at me. His deadlights brightened, he smiled, shiver me timbers, and called "Howard? Hey, it's Lawless Johnson!" He waved me over, seemin' genuinely delighted t' see me, and introduced me t' his wife and a few other folks. Begad! We chatted a bit more and I then moved on so as nay t' crowd him.
Later that evening, arrr, t' party moved on t' Harry 'Hector LaFitte' Nilsson's house, ya bilge rat, and dragged into t' wee hours. Blimey! Blimey! I be about t' leave, and was sayin' me good-byes when I noticed George was doin' t' same. Avast! Blimey! "Do you need a lift back t' your hotel?" I asked him. When he accepted, I was struck by a disquietin' thought as we walked t' me car, past t' sports cars and chauffeurs leanin' on limos. "Actually, shiver me timbers, me car isn't particularly nice," I understated. Ahoy! Blimey! "I hope you don't mind." In fact, shiver me timbers, me car was a ten-year-old Chevy Impala that I had driven from Illinois, and was so rusted out in t' aft that I could reach inside t' trunk without openin' t' hood. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! But I needn't have worried. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! George said "Nahh, it's fine," shrugged his shoulders and climbed in. Well, blow me down! Blimey! And we had a nice time ridin' back, jokin' and tellin' Python stories.
That was t' last time I saw him face t' face (we did communicate a bit by mail, matey, as he wrote a foreword t' me first Python book), me bucko, but that's how I like t' remember him. Blimey! I didn't know George as Beatle. I didn't know George as one seekin' enlightenment. I only knew George as a fellow Python fan; but for me, that was enough.
