Harry Nilsson's version of "Daddy's Song" was originally released on the first pressing of his Aerial Ballet album. But, it was quickly pulled from the album by RCA who feared that it would compete with The Monkees's cover version.

Nilsson's version later appeared on his Aerial Pandemonium Ballet album.

The Monkees performed "Daddy's Song" for their 1968 film Head. It appears on the soundtrack album.
